New Head of Leicester Grammar Junior School
We are very pleased to announce the appointment of a worthy successor to Mrs Caroline Rigby, who will retire at the the end of this academic year after outstanding service to the school and the Trust. From a shortlist of excellent candidates at final interview, we have appointed Mrs Sophia Ashworth Jones, who will join the Trust in September.
Mrs Ashworth Jones is a graduate of Leeds University, where she trained to be a primary teacher whilst also studying Science and Technology. She has spent most of her teaching career hitherto in the independent sector and is a very experienced Head, notably of the Pre-prep and Junior Schools of the Grammar School at Leeds, Chandlings Prep in Oxford, Christ Church Grammar School in Melbourne (Australia) and Belmont Grosvenor School in Harrogate, where she is currently. We very much look forward to welcoming her and believe that she will provide visionary leadership and care for the Junior School, building on its many strengths, whilst also contributing powerfully to the Trust as a whole.
